Scientists have found tropical plant fossils that give proof that the Arctic was once warm and tropic. It must have shifted away when continental drift happened causing the arctic to shift away to where it is now. This would have caused the animals to die and the plants to die or adapt to the freezing cold wheather. It gives evidence too that one day the Arctic might become tropic again. If it where the plants and animals could live there again. But, it is almost impossible for such a cold place to do that.
So, how could it happen. Scientists have discovered the tectonic plates move the continents 4cm per year. If this keeps up then we will have a new Pangea. It could have new creatures by then the human race could become extinct. But, for now we are stuck with the evidents that the Arctic was once a tropic place and is now a desolated waste land of ice.
